Web design continuously evolves to meet our needs and in 2013, we can only expect great things! As we rely more and more on the Internet and digital platforms to get us through our daily tasks, it is only natural for design trends to rise to the occasion. Several changes will occur, many to help improve user experience.  Here is what you can expect:

1. Responsive Web Design

Device sizes are changing. Responsive web design means graphics will adjust depending on the device a website is being viewed on. The best part about this is that it won’t require designers to make various layouts anymore!

2. Artful Typography

Today there are so many fonts to choose from, it is no longer an easy decision. Websites will focus more heavily on designing and utilizing typography due to its growing popularity and importance. Typography will be seen as an integral part of websites and something that enhances the appearance.

3. Scrolling Menus and Buttons

Fact: No one wants to scroll all the way back to the top of the page for the navigation bar. In 2013, you won’t have to. Static menus and buttons will scroll with you for an improved user experience.

4. Extra-Large Buttons

As more people turn to their smartphones to browse the web, websites will adapt to these users. Larger buttons will be integrated to make it easier for mobile users to utilize a small touchscreen this year.

5. Branded Websites

Websites will become so integrated with the brands they represent that brand recognition will be a breeze. Instead of simply appealing to the latest design trends, it is likely that websites will be completely in sync with the brand. This trend will likely be prominent in web design for years to come.

As technology becomes more intertwined with our everyday lives, web design will evolve to satisfy our needs. The future will have exciting advancements in web design to make our lives just a little bit easier. What other trends do you think we can expect to see this year? Leave a comment!
